The Issue

The client faced multiple challenges: Slow EMR and QuickBooks Desktop Multi-User performance, rising AWS costs, expensive and outdated ISP/voice setups, constant vendor disputes, and unreliable internet.

There was also a critical need to segregate PHI data outside of the Microsoft ecosystem to reduce the risk of data exfiltration in the event of a compromised user account, including Exchange mailboxes.

Eugenius Answer

We built our client their own Private Cloud, rebuilt QuickBooks on a dedicated virtual machine, and deployed dedicated fiber internet and VoIP across all healthcare clinics. We also negotiated Master Pricing Agreements with vendors to provide predictable flat-rate pricing.

Working directly with the development team, we optimized the RDS Remote App environment, resolving performance issues and eliminating vendor disputes. As a result, the client’s finance team has maintained stable infrastructure costs for the past five years.

To protect sensitive PHI data, we implemented a separate identity provider (IdP) independent of the Microsoft ecosystem, along with a secure file exchange platform and an email archiving solution. The archiving platform securely retains all messages with full search and recovery capabilities, while mailbox retention policies remove older emails to reduce the risk of historical data exfiltration.
